In 1930, the American writer, Upton Sinclair, published Mental Radio, a book in which the author claimed to demonstrate the telepathic abilities of his second wife, Mary Craig Sinclair. Specifically, the text documents a series of experiments in which Mrs. Sinclair attempts to describe and, in some cases, duplicate 290 pictures (most drawn by her husband) after presumably having seen them only telepathically.
As a communication exercise, Andrés Ramírez Gaviria and his wife, Jeanna Nikolov, have recreated several of Sinclair’s experiments under conditions similar to those recorded by the author nearly a century ago.
The drawings that resulted from these experiments are exhibited alongside a first edition copy of Upton Sinclair’s book.
